BOSS Batts™
BOSS Batts™ are a high-density mineral fibre fire-rated board designed to provide simple, fast and effective compartmentalisation in fire-rated walls, floors & ceilings. Coated with an ablative fire-resistant coating, BOSS Batts™ prevent the passage of fire, smoke and hot gases between compartments, while still allowing services to pass through the barrier. They provide a cost-efficient solution and are approved for use in a wide variety of substrates and configurations for up to FRL -/240/180, when installed in accordance with certified systems.
Lightweight and easy to cut, BOSS Batts can be friction-fitted onsite and sealed using FireMastic-300™ or Ablative Coating™. The system also integrates seamlessly with complementary BOSS passive fire products such as FyreBox™, P40-MAK Wrap™, Thermal Defence Wrap™, FireMastic-HPE™, FireMastic-300™ and MaxiCollars™, offering comprehensive protection for complex service penetrations. Their combination of thermal, acoustic and fire-resistant properties makes BOSS Batts an ideal choice for commercial, industrial and residential construction.

Testing
BOSS Batts are fully tested and approved to AS1530.4:2014 and AS4072.1-2005, providing fire resistance levels up to FRL -/240/180. Certified applications include blank openings, linear gap seals and a wide range of service penetrations across plumbing, electrical and HVAC installations. Acoustic performance is independently tested to Rw50, and the product integrates with multiple BOSS firestopping solutions for enhanced thermal and insulation performance. All installation must comply with the approved system configuration and certification requirements, and reference documents are available via the BOSS Fire System Matrix and associated test reports.
