2019 saw the start of an innovative NZ Govt contract, awarding passive product purchase separately from labour supply in a 4 year contract for the repair, refurbishment and construction of Passive Five Protection.

BOSS were chosen to supply Passive Fire Products for both rectification and new build projects across more than 20 separate hospitals under the umbrella of NZ’s Canterbury and West Coast District Health Board. Amongst a crowded field of competitors, BOSS were selected ahead of several global and major competitors due to our comprehensive fire test data and thoroughness of our bid.

According to Simon Hemmings, Passive Fire Programme Lead for CDHB and WCDHB:

“BOSS have taken a very bold step forward into an industry changing programme. Their technical ability, products and support are industry leading. When combined with their interest and acceptance to work side by side in product development, and to provide training and installation advice to the only passive fire installer accreditation programme in NZ, the CDHB are beginning to see amazing results on site and financial certainty across a wide range of projects, CDHB applaud BOSS for their commitment and outstanding service and look forward to continuing this game changing, long term partnership. – Simon Hemmings

Simon also commented that the agreement is a key element of our long term goal to challenge the industry to change it’s current processes and make passive fire an integral part of the design and construction process and not an “after thought”.
